Weekly Menu

I can’t believe how quickly this past week flew by!  The week ended up being a little busier than we expected.  We did go see a musical this week (I found a way to get discounted tickets!), Belle had orientation, Michael started his classes and I did some volunteer work.  Mike and I skipped Outback this week in favor of Red Lobster.  Not a good decision :(

My cupcake this week was a Champagne Cupcake.  The cake itself was drier than I typically like them but it did have a good flavor.  The frosting though was to die for!  Excellent taste with a very light, airy consistency.  The frosting is definitely a keeper but I’m going to play around with the cake to find a way to make it a little moister.

This week is another crazy week.  I have work functions two nights so we’re planning on quick and easy meals.  Unfortunately we probably won’t be able to sit down together more than 2-3 times this week. Hard to believe that it’s going to get worse once school starts!

Here’s what we’ll be having this week:

Brats, corn,  strawberry salad
Hamburgers, cranberry relish, tomato & black bean salad
Pulled pork sandwiches, homemade applesauce
Fend for yourself x3
Dinner Out

Nope, we aren’t serving up snotting kids :) For a long time it was hard to find brats in other areas but I am seeing their popularity trickle down. Thanks for stopping by!

Enjoy your week! The cupcakes look gorgeous.

  3. Fend for yourself. That’s what I’m talking about. I just started a link up and I hope you’ll stop by. http://www.five4fivemeals.com/main/2012/8/24/friday-five-link-up-aug-24-2012.html

  4. I had to look up brats too!!! A lovely meal plan, makes me want to go back to America! Especially the reference to Outback steakhouse! Have a lovely week x

  5. I only recently heard about cooking brats or sausages by soaking them in beer first. Sounds like a perfect match to me and is on my list for future meals.
What do you use in your pulled pork?
