Last week we ran out of gas for the grill so there was A LOT of eating out. Yesterday I ran out and got a refill so we’re back to a week of grilling.
In an effort to keep our grocery bill under control I’ve been looking for meat sales. A local grocery store has had six pieces of legs/thighs on sale for $3.00. I think that’s a fantastic price, especially since one of those packs will actually feed our family. This week I found some New York strips on sale.
In addition to looking for meat sale, I’ve been utilizing items from the CSA box I’ve been sharing with the Chicks. This week we received corn on the cob – can’t wait to make that! Unfortunately the packet of cherry tomatoes won’t be making it to the table as they were so good I ate them as a snack. I love farm fresh cherry tomatos!
Without further ado, here is our menu for the week.
Baked chicken (olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic), salad (another CSA items) green beans (I’m trying a new recipe from our CSA), grilled pineapple, artisan bread
