Weekly Menu Planning

As we wind down this year and start thinking about next year, I’m starting to think about some changes I can make to my menu planning.  There are going to be some changes here at the WWIN household beginning this week.  Mike has accepted a new position at work which means that he’s not going to be home a lot in the evenings.  With Michael out of the house and Belle’s work/extra curricular activities that will mean a lot of nights home by myself.

When I first heard about Mike’s new schedule I was pretty bummed.  We enjoy spending evenings together and I knew I was going to miss him.  Then I decided to look on the bright side.

  1. We’ll have a lot less opportunities to eat out which should help the budget.
  2. I’ll have more free time to cook and less resistance to new recipes.  This will also mean new post material – yeah!
  3. I’ll be able to do things I wouldn’t normally due during the week because of my need to get home.

See – there’s always a bright side.

This week we’re still in holiday mode so there won’t be a whole lot of cooking.  We have three parties to go to which should also help keep the grocery budget down a bit.
