It was a fairly quiet week here at the WWIN household. Mike was home all week but we really didn’t do much except on Friday and Saturday. Wednesday I had an eye doctor appointment where my eyes were dilated as part of the exam. I had such a hard time seeing that I ended up going straight to bed when I got home.
I finally got the patio cleaned off Friday night, I’m pretty happy with the results. The picture above is one of my favorite areas.
My menu execution was pretty poor this week. I didn’t get a chance to pick up the new grill so we really didn’t do much cooking. While we can still cook a few things (albeit unevenly), the stuff I was hoping to cook wouldn’t have worked well. We ended up doing taking almost every day from Wednesday on. Our budget was totally killed, we really need to pull it in this week.
This weekend we will definitely be getting a new grill as the kids decided it would make a nice Father’s Day gift for Mike. With a little help from mom of course 🙂
This week is going to be pretty crazy. I have a number of things going on for work. We’re having a team outing on Wednesday night and I’ll probably go out for dinner with some co-workers on Thursday who have flown in to help me run a trial. Plus I have school on Tuesday so it will be a fend for yourself kind of week.
You know the week starts off bad when the Sunday night meal is a Cobb Salad (Mike) and a breakfast bowl (me) in fron t of the TV while watching Super8.
Since my expectations are significantly lower, I’m hoping I’ll be able to execute this week. Here is what we’ll be eating for the week.
Modified Cobb Salad (recipe will be going live Monday at 6am Central time)

Pulled Pork (I had some left over from when I filmed a few weeks ago so I threw it in the freezer.)
I told you last week that our washing machine was broken. $159 later we found out that our drain hose was completely plugged. A couple of weeks ago we had gotten some sludge out of it but I guess the whole hose was plugged. Everything has been flushed and it’s working well.
Now that the washer is fixed, the dryer decided to go on the fritz. It doesn’t make me happy considering that the dryer isn’t even 3 years old. It just went out today and given the amount of money we’ve spent this week (eating out and landscaping stuff) I really can’t even think about it right now. I’ll be able to leave work early on Friday so I’m going to see if we can get a repair man out then. I’m thinking I should ask for a frequent customer discount.
Oh well, if this is the worst thing that happens this week I’ll count myself fortunate.
Here was my goals for the week:
Plant window boxes Plant front flower beds Plant patio containers Clean the house (dusting, vacumming, bathrooms, etc)– Mike and Belle took care of the house. They got everything clean except the tubs. Look for a graduation picture of me (it’s for work – they have something up their sleeve!)
- Organize the office – am I ever going to be able to cross this off the list?!? I did some digging last week so it’s a disaster again.
- Hang the picture frames in the office
Take a test for school– I got a B which was a bit of a bummer. Post three times Listen to two lessons at Platform University Read The Villa by Nora Roberts (free book I picked up at the laundromat)
- Get Chick Chat This and That back up and running (we switched hosting companies and it’s down as of right now)
As I’ve said, this week is going to be a pretty busy week so I’m keeping my goals pretty low key
- Post three times
- Finish paper for school
- Get Chick Chat This and That back up
- Participate in growing your business through Pinterest webinar
- Get dryer fixed
That’s about it for me. What are you serving this week or hoping to get accomplished? Feel free to leave a link to your menu or goals in the comments.
