Weekly Menu and Goals

I hope everyone enjoyed the 4th of July holiday.  We certainly did at the WWIN household.  In the morning we went to the parade held downtown.  This is Belle’s favorite parade because they throw candy.  Although, being that she’s 17 she doesn’t really get any thrown at her, but that’s what little cousins are for 🙂  Belle did the waving and my 8 year old nephew got the candy!  He did a pretty good job of sharing.

After the parade we went to my in-laws for a cook-out.  I made the Strawberry Kabobs that I posted a couple of weeks ago.  They went over well.  I used angel food cake instead of pound cake and thought it was a little lighter.

Mike worked so Belle and I went to the fireworks ourselves.  This year was probably one of the best that the city put on.  It was a beautiful night sitting at the lake’s edge watching them.  Perfect weather to be out.  To end the night Belle lost her iPhone in the grass.  We finally found it it about 100 feet away from where she noticed it missing.  Thankfully there was a couple who helped us out by shining the lights on her phone.  Belle would have been a sad little girl if she couldn’t find it as she would have to go back to her old non-data plan phone.

Weekly Menu

This week should be a pretty quiet week with a lot of home time.  Home time is always good.  Mike does have a couple of days off during the week so we’ll probably go out to dinner and grocery shopping during one of them.  I’m also planning on going out with the girls on Friday night so there will be two dinners out this week.

chicken - finished

Mike is on a chicken kick right now so I’ll be doing my Beer Butt Chicken so he’ll have plenty of it for the week.

Lately we’ve also been into guacamole at our house.  Mike eats his with his chicken, I like mine in a pita.  Delicious!  I’ll be putting up the recipe in a week or two.

We’ll also be doing our favorite meal – Grilled Brats!  We like to serve corn on the cob with this meal.  For the time being we have to satisfy ourselves with grocery store corn on the cob but our favorite farmer should have some available within the next few weeks!

Antipasto - CCTNT

I was also in the mood for Antipasto so I bought the stuff for it this week and will have it one night while Mike is at work.

We’re also having hamburgers as well, other than that the rest of the week will be leftovers and odds and ends.

Weekly Goals

Here were last week goals.

  • Finish up a bunch of school work and attend my last class
  • Buy books for my next class
  • Take care of some of the stuff for my grandma’s estate
  • Work on an outline for a new project I want to start

I finally finished the microeconomics class I was taking.  It was a killer!!  I’m so very thankful it’s over.  My next class is on line and starts this week.  I still haven’t bought my books so I need to get going on that!

Sophie has been sick this week so I have been doing A LOT of clean-up.  Some kind of doggy virus is making it’s way through our house resulting in lots of messes.  If she’s not better by Tuesday I’m going to have to take her into the vet.

In addition to cleaning – I FINALLY finished my office project.  Here is what you’ve seen on this list over and over and over……

Office Picture Wall

It feels good to be able to cross that off!  I also accomplished a few more things in the office

  • Ironed the curtains (I hung them straight out of the package and just now got around to ironing them.
  • Found a place to store my picture totes that were parked next to my desk

I also had my parents over for breakfast yesterday.  As you know, I’ve been working to make Wonder Woman I’m Not a better place to come to.  One of the things I’ve been wanting to do is hire someone to help with some of the social media and other things.

Of course, right now I don’t have the money to do that so I got the next best thing – my mom!  She’ll be helping me with comments, sharing some of her favorite tips and just helping Wonder Woman I’m Not to be more social.  I’m so happy she’s joining me!

This week I’ll also will be doing the following:

  • Add my mom’s information to the About page
  • Write three posts (I’m hoping Friday to have my first vlog up for you!)
  • Get ready for my next class
  • Work on stuff for my grandma’s estate
  • Work 2 days on my writing project

That’s about it for me.  What are you planning on accomplishing this week?

I’ll be linking up at I’m an Organizing Junkie and Money Saving Mom

  1. Your starwberry kabobs look good. I would have used angel food cake too for them. We love it and it’s one of the store bought cakes my kids can eat. Now I’m hungry for some. Hope you have a great week.

    • Hi Shelly, thanks for your comments. It is so nice in the summer to have these light fresh desserts to serve and the red white and blue theme fits in with the 4th of July!
You have a great week too!
