Weekly Menu and Goals

Flowers Window Boxes_WWIN

Where is the summer going to?  I can’t believe we’re rounding the corner to the end of June!  This week was fairly quiet for me.  I spent A LOT of time out in the yard trying to get it ready for Belle’s party.  Mike is about ready to take away my debit card I’ve been spending so much money on flowers – yikes!  While I still have a lot more to do I’m seeing definitely progress which is encouraging!

Father’s Day was pretty low key.  We saw my father-in-law (I’m having my dad over for dinner on Wednesday) and then took the bike out for the day.  We were gone about five hours which doesn’t “sit” well with my backside but we did take a few breaks along the way so I could stretch.  Once again we headed up to Kettle Moraine which is absolutely beautiful, love that place!

This week is shaping up to be fairly quiet, hopefully the weather will hold out and I’ll be able to spend some time in the yard!

I’m running my second give away from Plated.com.  For details and to enter you can click here.

I chose not to order a Plated box this week so I’ll be recreating some of our favorites.

Weekly Goals

Last week goals were hit or miss.  I spent so much time outside I didn’t get to do the inside stuff.  On a side note, I had a Random Act of Kindness bestowed on me this week.  My neighbors dad stopped over with a few plants that he pulled out of his beds.  I had been pondering what perennials to plant down by my mailbox (in the past I’ve done annuals) so his gift helped me make up my mind 🙂

Here is what I planned to do last week:

  • Finish the window boxes
  • Keep plugging away in the flower beds
  • Post two times
  • Mail graduation party invitations

Although I didn’t post (sorry!) or do the invitations I did completely finish all my containers (window boxes, patio and fence) plus pull out all the shrubs that died in my front bed and plant perennials.  I also spend some time in my back beds.

The biggest thing I accomplished last week?  I finalized our trip to Italy to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary!  The plane tickets are bought, the hotel is booked and the cruise portion is reserved and almost paid for.  In addition, I have most of our excursions planned although I haven’t booked those yet.  Now that the plane tickets are bought I feel like it’s a reality and I’m really looking forward to it.

This week I plan to:

  • Keep working on the flower beds
  • Mail graduation party invitations
  • Post two more times

That’s it for me – hopefully soon I’ll finish up with the yard and can go back to my regularly scheduled goals 🙂

What are you planning for the week?
